When to use this. A purchase or service request needs review before it proceeds.

What you’ll need. Named approvers and a written decision path.

  1. Define the review path

Identify who approves a request and which answers change the approval path. Start with the smallest process that satisfies the business need.

  2. Configure the workflow

Add approvers, conditions, and any delays or reminders. Use approve-and-sign when the process needs a signature as part of the decision.

  3. Test both outcomes

Submit sample requests that should be approved and declined. Check each person’s notification and verify the next step receives the decision.

  4. Review the record

Use the approval log and PDF report to understand what happened and follow up on pending reviews.

How to know it worked

Test requests reach the right approvers and their decisions appear in the log.
