Import a contact list and enroll prospects

Upload, preview, execute, and inspect a CSV import.

When to use this. You have an existing contact list to bring into a follow-up process without entering each prospect manually.

What you’ll need. A CSV of appropriate contacts, a key with prospects.write, and sequenceStates.write if enrolling during execution.

  1. Upload the CSV

POST the file to /api/v1/reach/imports/prospects using multipart form data. Keep the returned import identifier for the next steps.

  2. Preview the mapping

Use /api/v1/reach/imports/preview and review the mapping before executing. The public overview does not specify the full preview payload; use the deployed request schema or ask the team rather than inventing field names.

  3. Execute the reviewed import

POST to /api/v1/reach/imports/execute with importId and mode. The settings example uses UPSERT. Add enroll: true only when the imported contacts should enter a sequence; choose sequenceId or the key’s default.

  4. Inspect the result

GET /api/v1/reach/imports/:id for status. The public docs also list /:importId/errors and /:importId/errors/csv. Correct failed rows before retrying, and confirm enrollment in the workspace.

How to know it worked

The import completes, valid prospects appear in Reach, and rejected rows are identified for correction.
