When to use this. The default signing request does not sound like your organization.

What you’ll need. Owner or admin access to the account.

  1. Open the templates

Go to Account Management and open the email templates. Each transactional message the account sends has its own template — invitations, document links, signing notifications, reminders, approvals, and form notifications.

  2. Pick the message to change

Start with the ones your customers see most: the signing request and the reminder. Internal notifications matter less than the messages that leave your organization.

  3. Edit the subject and body

Both are editable. Keep the subject short and specific — it is what decides whether a signing request gets opened.

  4. Keep the variables intact

Templates insert values such as the recipient's name and the document link. Leave those placeholders in place; deleting the link placeholder produces an email the recipient cannot act on.

  5. Send yourself a real one

Trigger the actual event rather than previewing. Send a document to your own address and read the message as the recipient will, on a phone as well as a desktop.

How to know it worked

A real signing request arrives with your wording, your sender, and a working link.
