Choose submission columns and allow drafts

Control what your team sees in the inbox, and let people finish later.

When to use this. The submissions table has too many columns to read, or people need to start a form and finish it later.

What you’ll need. A form with at least one submission to check the result against.

  1. Open Form Data

In the form builder, open the settings rail and choose Form Data. It controls how this form's submissions behave and how they are displayed to your team.

  2. Choose the visible columns

Column visibility decides which fields appear as columns in the submissions table. A long form produces an unreadable table by default — show the handful of fields your team scans, and leave the rest to the detail view.

  3. Decide which row actions your team gets

The view and delete actions on each row can be enabled separately. Turning delete off is a reasonable safeguard on a form where records must be retained.

  4. Allow draft submissions

Enable Form submit as draft to let a respondent submit before they are finished and come back to edit. Drafts appear in your Drafts area rather than mixing into completed responses.

  5. Tell your team what a draft means

A draft is not a finished answer. Make sure whoever works the inbox knows not to act on one until the respondent completes it.

How to know it worked

The inbox shows the columns your team needs, and unfinished responses land in Drafts.
